Random Question
Do you think women are more attracted to the sci-fi/fantasy genre than men and why?
I don't know, just cos I've always known more women who are into that men.

I think it's not a good idea to lump together the sci-fi and fantasy genres, because I'm sure that there are more women readers of fantasy than men. Men in general read less than women, you can find various studies on the web. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14175229

When I started out in SF/Fandtasy fandom back in the 1980's every aspect of fandom I encountered (except for Elfquest) was very heavily male-dominated. Online media fandom and popular film adaptations have helped redress the balance with fandoms like SPN and Twilight being very heavily female weighted, but when I go to Classic Who events it might as well be the 1980s because I can count the number of other females on one hand!
